Animal Print and Puppy Dogs

Is this not the cutest little cake ever? It was my first time to make a "mini". I call it that because it is a 4 inch cake on top of a 6 inch. I came up with the idea because so many people just do not need to serve enough guests to require a regular two tiered cake but I adore tiered cakes. They look so special...so important. So I thought....why not. It was just adorable. I can't wait to make another one. It will only serve around 12 to 15 or so but you can always add a bunch of cutie patutie mini cupcakes to go along with it!

 And here is the cake with those adorable mini cupcakes I mentioned. How perfect is that? All this precious mini stuff for a baby shower is just perfect. Okay....I am ready for a baby shower now. Good to know about 6 ladies in my Life Connection Class at church are pregnant so I am sure I will have many opportunities to make more! Below is the bedding I based the design of the cake on. It just makes me almost....in a very small way...kinda...maybe want a little girl. But then....ummm...I really love my boys!   lol

 

So after all the fun I had with the girlie one, I got to make this little sport for a big one year old! Now this is a "take 2" of a cake I made several months ago. I just loved the design so I was thrilled when she asked me to make it again.

Golf Cake and Cake Pops

 I was asked to make this cake for a surprise birthday party. It was a big one...12 inches! So simple and clean, but I loved it.

 The golf ball and the golf bag are both hand sculpted out of fondant. I am sure that using a mold to make the ball would have been much easier, but I wanted it big. It was about the size of a baseball.

 Here is the cake along side the yummy golf ball cake pops. They turned out so cute. I was very proud of them. I know, I know there are no dimples. The little golf tees let you know what we were going for though....right?

Well, all I can say is he is one lucky man. His wife was determined to make this one impressive party. When I delivered the cake, I knew she had succeeded. I didn't get to meet her because she was bringing the birthday boy later, but it was one rockin' party. I wanted to stay and join in. I definitely have a challenge to outdo our little bowling party next year! Welp....here's to wonderful parties where we show our special someones how much they mean to us!

A Little Bowling....Cake!

My wonderful hubby's birthday was this week. We had a great time celebrating with friends at the local bowling alley. It was such a refreshing night of fun. And it is always so rewarding to make a cake for one of my own. Of course, I am sure he would have preferred a Charger Cake or MSU cake, but I thought this little number fit the event perfectly.

 Notice the nice marbling.....much more distinct in person.

 Sooooo....we'll just say I am much better at making cakes than bowling. I had the lowest score of everyone there. I think I tied with my four year old. Oh well! Maybe next time.

Hello Kitty Cake
