Okay!!! Enough bragging on my own work. Hope they liked it as much as I did!
I tried to give it the feel of the tower...minus the gloom of her being locked in it for 18 years.
Just a little shot of the back. You know I am all about making sure the back is just as cute as the front. You just never know when someone might happen to walk behind the cake!
My little extra details.
Just to let you know, thatched roofs are extremely time consuming! This little roof was formed out of rice treats covered in about a hundred little squares of purple fondant. The little girl's mom loves butterflies, so I thought this one on the very top would be a nice, whimsical touch.
Beautifully, wood-grained door.
And more butterflies!
Overall, this was such a fun cake. I love getting to make wonderful, girlie cakes. And, I got to meet a beautiful family in the process. I can't wait to make another cake for them. Such a sweet little girl. When I get to meet the kiddos I am making cakes for, it just adds a whole new dynamic to this cake decorating venture. I love it!
Okay, going to practice making people faces now. Hope you have a great week!

lady! So, her birthday deserved a very special cake. She is so bright and happy...like a breath of fresh air. I felt that this cake reflected that perfectly.
The daisy is my all time favorite flower.
Happy Birthday Mrs. Ivette!!!

So....with all that said, you can imagine how excited I was to get to make not one, but two first birthday cakes this week! I was completely in my element and loving every minute of it. I mean, this is why I make cakes. Don't get me wrong, I love making anyone feel special on their birthday, but babies just melt my heart.
This is the plates I used as inspiration for the cake.
The little surprise puppy. It is hand sculpted out of fondant. Although it is completely edible, it will also dry really hard so they can keep it for years to come.
After I was done with the polka dot cake, it was on to this monster of a cake!
Just a little close up of the fondant detail work and the hand sculpted giraffe.
The Smash Cake!
Happy Birthday Little Guys! And congratulations moms on making an entire year!!!!
I hope you all have a very blessed week. I can't wait to share next weeks cake with you!

Flower "polka dots!
There is that butterfly!
And a hand sculpted fondant unicorn to match the plate. Although it is edible, it will also dry really hard and can be kept for years as a keepsake of the event!
And then it was on to the fire truck. Now, it was a late addition for the week, but boy am I ever happy I got to make it. I made a fire truck for my little boy's 3rd birthday back before I actually made cakes. I thought I was the stuff back then. I was so proud of my homemade cake! When my friend called to see if I could add her to schedule I was all over it. Her entire family was so sweet. They kept bragging on the cake. It was such an encouragement to me. This is why I make cakes!!!!!
And what is a fire truck without some gauges.
I hope you all have a wonderfully sweet week!!!
